I am very much into reading and creative writing, though I am not very experienced with the latter. Here you can find books I'm currently reading and progress on my various writing projects.

The Most Powerful Idea in the World, William Rosen

While this book is probably not all that exciting to the average person, I find it very fascinating. This book delves into the entire history of the steam engine, and every aspect that had to align perfectly to allow the industrial revolution to happen. Currently, I am in a chapter that describes the advancements in the understanding of elements and their behaviors in relation to temperatures. More specifically, latent heat, and all that it entails. This relates directly to my field of work, and I find it incredibly juicy.

Continuing to read this has been so funny to me, as someone in the engineering sector, it is bewildering to me how anyone managed to figure some of these things out. To be truthful, many of these discoveries were by accident, like injection condensation for example, which was so violent it nearly ruptured the machine. Many people believe that the Greeks and Romans were very techniclogically advanced, but in reality, theories from the Greeks set us back in the form of the modern steam engine. They did not believe that a vacuum could not exist, which is crucial to the operation of the steam cycle.

House of Leaves, Mark Z. Danielewski

Initial thoughts: This book really hooks you in immediately with the bizarre story, I am very excited to read this. You can really feel the insanity dripping from the pages.
